In what ways are snowflakes like people?
Here’s your writing topic to try for the week!
Write a silly story explaining how bagel’s came to have holes in the middle.
This weekend was the first snowfall of the year. This can bring up all sorts of writing topics. Here are some ideas. Choose one to write about. Maybe you even want to try all!
1. Write a letter to a friend describing what you did in the snow.
2. Compare a snowy winter day to a rainy winter day. What is better and why.
3. Conduct a survey with friends and family. Ask them if they are happy to see the snow and why. Write about your results.
4. Think about what it would be like if you lived in a place that ALWAYS had snow. Write a story about that place.
5. Think about what it would be like if you lived in a place that NEVER had snow. Write a story about that place.

Take a moment to look at this picture and think about what it must have been like. Write about it in your journal.

What does this mean to you? Talk about it with your family and write about it in your journal.
Do you prefer rainy days or sunny days. Explain why in a journal entry.
What did you do for Halloween? Write about your day. Or, use your imagination and change what happened on Halloween to create an exciting story.
It is a stormy and rainy day. Halloween is just around the corner. Write a story about a day like today. Think about what words you might add into your story to make it spooky.

This morning I was dropping my daughter off at daycare and I felt winter coming. Are you looking forward to winter?
Think about what you would like to do this winter. Write a story about one winter day. What would you do? Who and what would you see? Try to include as much detail as you can.
